NEW! Turf-Replacement Rebate Program (Pilot Program)
Help California use less water, and beautify your home at the same time!
Did you know that approximately 60% of a residence’s water use in our area is outdoors?
One of the most water-consuming plants in a typical residential landscape is the turfgrass lawn. By reducing or eliminating turfgrass, a homeowner can save approximately 30% of the water used for lawn, which means long-term savings. Additionally, the maintenance and equipment required for the landscape will be greatly reduced.
In addition, costs for fertilizers and maintenance will also be decreased.
The Nipomo Community Services District is offering a pilot Turf Replacement Program for NCSD customers. Customers may be eligible to receive up to $500 for such a conversion ($1.00/ft2). Please see the Program Requirements page for additional information.
As a pilot program, a limited number of applicants will be selected to participate in this rebate program.
However, if the pilot program shows sufficient water savings, the program may be expanded to include rebates for more homes. By submitting your application now, your name will be on a waiting list and, should additional funding be provided, customers on that list will be considered for the rebate before customers who have not.
The Turf-Replacement Program has conditions and requirements, and may not be suitable for all homeowners. See Program Requirements for details.
