⚠️ WATER CONSERVATION URGED DURING EMERGENCY PIPELINE REPAIR
Effective: Immediately
Duration: Approximately 4 Days
Posted: June 19, 2025
During the period that the State Water Project delivery pipeline to the City of Santa Maria is undergoing an emergency repair, the Nipomo Community Services District urges its residents and businesses to temporarily reduce water use. While the District’s interconnect with the City of Santa Maria will remain active at a reduced level for the short period that repairs are under way, and Nipomo’s water supply remains safe and reliable, system-wide conservation is the right thing to do and will help preserve enough supply for health, safety, and emergency services throughout the repair period. Please take temporary water conservation measures, including:
· Temporarily cut back on outdoor irrigation;
· Temporarily refrain from filling or topping off swimming pools;
· Use commercial car washes that recycle water;
· No washing of hard services such as sidewalks and driveways.
NCSD and its partner, the City of Santa Maria, appreciate these and other temporary water conservation measures during this unexpected emergency repair. We will notify the public when repairs are complete.
